Oxapampa is the capital of Oxapampa District and Oxapampa Province in Peru in the eastern part of the Pasco Region. Oxapampa belongs to the natural region known as Selva Alta or high jungle. 80 kilometres northward down the valley of the Huancabamba River is the settlement of Pozuzo. The most important agricultural pursuits in the region are raising cattle and growing coffee.

Located in the Pasco region of Peru, Oxapampa is a small town with a rich history and vibrant culture. The town was founded in 1891 by German and Austrian immigrants who were searching for a new place to call home. As a result, Oxapampa is a unique blend of traditional Peruvian culture and European influences.
